The anti spam filter works on a
complex points system. The points are based on the way the email is constructed, mailed and the actual contents of the email itself. The
filter will scan each message and 'score' it appropriately. We store spam email for seven days before deleting it, and we send an e-mail showing what spam mail is caught on a daily basis.
Our anti-virus scanning is included as standard and is configured to filter over 40,000 viruses, with updates every few minutes. This has been very successful in combating e-mail based viruses, providing additional protection to our clients, although this should not be used as an alternative to traditional anti-virus products such as Grisoft AVG.
The points system can be adjusted per
user, and also we can add addresses to black lists to stop email, add
addresses to white lists so wanted email will not be stopped. There is a
small service charge of £10+ VAT per year, which will enable us to
manage individual user accounts and tailor them to your requirements.
